The folks over at Ahrefs ran an interesting experiment recently.
The company’s head of marketing, Si Quan Ong, queried almost 40 different AI writing tools, asking them to list their top 10 recommended AI writing tools.
AI’s Best AI Writing Tool? Grammarly
Then, he tallied up the results, and came up with this list:
AI writing tool | Number of votes |
---|---|
Grammarly | 26 |
Writesonic | 24 |
Quillbot | 22 |
Jasper | 21 |
OpenAI GPT-3 | 19 |
Wordtune | 18 |
ContentBot | 16 |
Article Forge | 15 |
Hemingway | 14 |
ProWritingAid | 13 |
It’s a fun, and very meta, exercise – though it is biased by its own flaws. None of the AI polled has data about newer options, so they are all drawing from the same, pre 2021, data sets. Nevertheless, it’s still a good overview of what is currently available, and Ong also gives his own, human/non-AI, recaps and experience with each platform.
