Meta ramped up it’s AI efforts this week with a series of significant updates aimed at enhancing user experience across its platforms. The latest buzz surrounds the integration of its cutting-edge AI chatbot, Llama 3, into the search bars of its flagship apps—Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp—in multiple countries. This upgrade is complemented by the rollout of new features, including quicker image generation and seamless access to web search results, as well as the launch of its new AI site, meta.ai.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg touted Meta AI as possibly the “most intelligent AI assistant” available for free use.
Originally introduced in the U.S. last year, Meta AI is now expanding its reach to encompass English-speaking audiences in over a dozen countries, including Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, and more. While recent tests in countries like India and Nigeria have shown promising results, Meta has indicated its intention to maintain Meta AI in a testing phase in India for the time being.
